Cody Rhodes set to receive knee surgery

Last weekend Ring Of Honor star Cody Rhodes suffered a knee injury during a show in New York. Rhodes said he heard a pop in his knee when he was teasing a t-shirt toss. He later went to get some doctor’s opinion on the matter, and was forced to miss his then-scheduled IWGP United States Championship defense against Beretta at ROH Global Wars: Toronto.

After consulting with doctors, it was determined that Rhodes’ MCL, PCL, and ACL were all structurally sound, and he avoided a major injury:

“GOOD news is my doctor is fairly confident that my mcl/pcl/acl are structurally sound. BAD news is the meniscus is fairly damaged, gonna’ require a scope. No dates will be adjusted at the moment, and I’ll definitely still compete in the final battle main event & at WK.”

Now, F4WOnline reports that Rhodes is set to undergo knee surgery after Wrestle Kingdom 13, on January 4th. After the operation, he will have to sit out for six weeks. Currently, Rhodes plans on rehabbing his knee until December 14th when he faces Jay Lethal for the ROH World Title at the “Final Battle” PPV.
