WWE’s Stephanie McMahon has some very high aspirations for the company. McMahon was recently a guest speaker at the “Web Summit” in Lisbon, Portugal. McMahon talked about WWE’s ability to build a global brand and ways they can expand their global market. One of the final questions McMahon was asked about WWE is where she thinks the company will be in 10 years.
McMahon answered by saying that there’s no reason, in the next several decades, that WWE can’t one day be as big – if not bigger – than Disney:
“10-20-30 years from now, there’s no reason we can’t be as big [as] or bigger than Disney,” McMahon said.
“Now that’s a tall order, especially given recent transactions. However, there’s no reason why we can’t get there. You have to dream big, have big, bold goals, and go after them.”
Per a report from The Big Lead, WWE’s market cap is $5.8 billion compared to Disney, who is currently at $172.7 billion. WWE is certainly doing well for themselves financially. They signed a billion-dollar broadcast deal with FOX for SmackDown Live. Not to mention the money they’re making for their shows in Saudi Arabia.
