Ronda Rousey talks facing Charlotte Flair so early in her WWE career, taking first chair shots

Tonight WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will share the ring with Charlotte Flair. Flair is undoubtedly one of the greatest in-ring female performers the company has ever seen. Initially, Rousey was set to face SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. However, after Lynch broke her nose during an invasion segment on Raw this week, Flair will now step in to face the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

Recently, Rousey took to her YouTube channel to host a pre-Survivor Series Q&A with her fans. During the Q&A, Rousey touched on facing Flair at Survivor Series so early in her career. Rousey admitted she would’ve liked to get some more experience under her belt before sharing the ring with Flair, but is prepared for the challenge:

“If it was my absolute preference I would probably choose to have more experience and be more developed in the ring before I would have the opportunity to share it with someone like Charlotte Flair,” Rousey said.

“But you know, opportunities come when they come. I’m ready to seize it, I’ve succeeded at crazier things before and I was thrown into the WWE deep end since day one, and I haven’t drowned yet. Keep sending them my way, I’ll keep doing my absolute best to keep surpassing expectations.”

On Raw this past Monday, Rousey took her first chair shots in WWE. Becky Lynch hit Rousey with a few shots to the back with a steel chair. Here’s what Rousey had to say about taking the first chair shots of her professional wrestling career:

“It was so cool, it was really, really cool,” Rousey said. “It was really cool, actually, to get my first chair shot. I was almost honored to be in that kind of setting, to get my first chair shot.”
