Last night at Survivor Series, Charlotte Flair made an interesting decision to get herself disqualified from her match with Ronda Rousey. During the middle of the match, Flair pulled out a kendo stick and completely thrashed the Raw Women’s Champion. The decision was also an interesting one because the match was very competitive up until that point.
It turns out, Flair’s attack on Rousey was part of some big plans WWE has for “The Queen.” Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that Rousey vs. Becky Lynch is still planned for WrestleMania 35, but it’s looking like it could now be a Triple Threat match. Vince McMahon wanted to get some heat back on Flair, who he felt was cold after her feud with Lynch.
As a result, the idea for Flair to attack Rousey during the match was drawn up. Of course, the original plan was for Rousey to face Flair at WrestleMania. However, after Lynch’s rise to superstardom, mixed with her injury delaying her match with “The Rowdy One,” those plans changed.
